Rent a boat at the Wharf in Washington, DC.

It's easy to rent a boat at the the Wharf through GoBoat. Just book online and show up 15 minutes before the booked time at The Wharf. The person renting must be 21 years old. We recommend to book online but maybe you're lucky that we have available boats.

Seen all the whole city already? Do you want your own experience on the Washington Channel? Then the GoBoat experience is perfect for you!

We'll teach you how to sail and instruct you about the rules. No license required. Have a look at how sailing a GoBoat works.

Rules and information about renting a GoBoat at the Wharf:

  • We open in March 2024
  • Our opening hours are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
  • 8 people per boat. No license or prior experience needed. Alcohol consumption is allowed - we ask for moderation
  • A GoBoat's speed is about 3 knots (3-4 m/h) so you can focus on each other and the sights
  • Online rebooking or change to a voucher until 24 hours before departure. Refund available before 72 hours before departure.

Enjoy a picnic at sea

We recommend taking food and drinks with you on your trip. You can buy both drinks and snacks at GoBoat. If you book online, we'll have it ready for your when you arrive. Or add drinks and snacks at check in.

If you would like to order food on board, you can pre order food with your booking. You'll sail 5 min to Green Island, where you can pick up the food (we'll point you in the right direction). Food from Green Iland is available at selected times. The booking system will let you know.

Find GoBoat in Washington, DC

  • Our address is: 101 Market Square SW, Washington, DC 20024
  • Opening time: From 8 am to sunset (usually 8 pm) Check the booking system for specific opening hours.
  • Public transportation: Take the metro to L'Enfant Plaza and take a 10 min walk from there to Float DC by GoBoat. Find us on Google Maps here.
  • By car: There are three underground garages at The Wharf. Garage 1 has three entrances. Garage 1 - Blair Alley Entrance is closest to GoBoat. Park in the BLUE section of the garage.
